With the increase in grocery store prices lately many people are seriously considering the home garden in an effort to cut the budget a bit. This is all well and good however one must fully realize that with certain foods it may be more cost effective to purchase the cans as opposed to canning them yourself.
Being a survivalist I fully believe that we should be capable of taking care of ourselves so gardening was one of the first skills I learned. There are some foods that it just is not practical to grow myself. First off watch the sale items in the stores. Perhaps you will come across canned foods for 3 for a dollar. With today’s prices I would consider this to be a real bargain. In other cases take a stroll down the produce section of the grocery store and glance at some of these high prices.

If your parents (or grandparents) are celebrating a milestone anniversary, it’s a wonderful idea to plan a special anniversary party.
You can host the event as a surprise party, or enlist in the couple’s help to make the anniversary party the best it can be.
Choose a venue that is suitable for your event. Whether casual or formal, large or small, you can make the party memorable. A great idea is to hire a band that can play music from the time your parents were married.
Before the party, gather photos and videos from your parents’ years together and put together a slideshow or video presentation for the party. A 25th or 50th anniversary is a notable milestone. Plan your event well in advance to make sure that out-of-town guests can make travel arrangements.

Reading like all learning follows interest and motivation. Simply put, people will learn things that are interesting and pleasurable for them. So the secret to getting kids to read is to give them reading materials about the things that they like!
Notice that I said reading material and not books. Too many parents get hung up on wanting their kids to read only books. However, Books are not the only reading materials in the world at all. It is perfectly acceptable to get your kids interested in reading by giving them magazines about their hobbies and interests. In fact it is actually cheaper this way. Magazines are less expensive than books, have a more eye catching appeal than books and also have pictures that go along with the words. This is very important!

Precious moments! Growing up can be hard for both parents and child. But when everyone seems to be settling down, online dating, the singles scene and group activities are sure to encourage even the most homely of fellows to fly the nest………
As young children, it would be pretty safe to say that the vast majority would look to their parents and would hope to also be a mum or dad when they grow up. Young children idolize their parents and for their first few adorable and precious years could not possibly see or imagine themselves being any different. Parents, having been there done that, hold these moments and years close to their hearts, as they know all to well that their children will one day grow up to be typically selfish and difficult teenagers. Up and till the age of twelve or thirteen, parents can usually expect their children be kind, loving and still adorable. After this age, parents can usually expect changes which can be described as anything but adorable.
